Dave East Discusses Recording Music With Kevin Durant

The creator of the upcoming 'Paranoia 2' project appears on 'Highly Questionable'.

(AllHipHop News) Dave East went from playing basketball to spitting rhymes. The Paranoia: A True Story creator has that baller-rapper combination in common with Golden State Warriors player Kevin Durant.

Apparently, the former NBA MVP has been writing rhymes for a long time. During an appearance on ESPN's Highly Questionable, East discussed how he and Durant have been connected musically since they were teenagers.

"I met Kevin in 10th grade. I was down in the DMV area playing ball, and we were both kinda killing the area. That's where I first got familiar with him," said East. "The ball didn't go for me how it went for KD. So I got into the music, but he's always been a fan of the music."

The Harlem native continued, "He makes beats. He likes to produce, so he invited me to his crib one day. We were in his basement. He had a mic set up. I think it was over an old Kanye beat. I got him to rap with me. It's on YouTube, me and him rapping together.”

Projects from D.E.'s discography have not made K.D.'s all-time favorites list yet. However, East might be able to change that with his recently announced sequel to Paranoia.
