Cardi B Reacts To Setting The Record For Most Weeks At #1 For A Solo Female Rapper

The Bronx native's "Bodak Yellow" surpasses Lauryn Hill's 1998 hit for the all-time record.

(AllHipHop News) Cardi B made history this week. Her hit record "Bodak Yellow" became the longest-running #1 song on Billboard's Hot 100 chart by a female rapper with no features.

The Bronx native shared her thoughts about the achievement. She wrote on Instagram:

I been having such a sentimental sad day today 😞But I feel sooo much better now .Thank you everybody for streaming and buying and sharing BODAK YELLOW 😘😘THIRD WEEK

The previous record holder was Lauryn Hill. The Grammy-winning singer/emcee's "Doo Wop (That Thing)" led the chart for two weeks in 1998.
